Mission: To positively provide a safe and quality education so that we can excel and grow. Vision: Dillard Academy will prepare all students to succeed in a global society by providing a diverse, collaborative and technological academic climate, empowering students to be 80% proficient by 2020.
Your child will receive: *Technology-based, individualized instruction with iPads, desktops and classroom Smart TV. *Small group instruction tailored to meet your child's individual needs. *Interventions to help your child master grade-level expectations.
Classroom Expectations: *Students will follow rituals/routines and rules of the classroom. *Students will treat everyone with respect. *Students will come to class prepared and ready to learn.
Homework Policy: Students are assigned homework Monday through Thursday. Although homework only accounts for 10% of a student's overall grade, not completing or turning in homework will negatively affect a student's grade. When completing reading homework, it is important for students to underline their evidence to prove their answers. When completing math homework, it is important for students to show their work. There will be a reward for students who consistently turn in their homework.
Classroom Consequences: Behavior is largely dealt with inside the classroom. Students will move their behavior clips up for positive behavior and down for redirection. If a student is reminded about the same behavior consistently, they will move their clip and complete a discipline write. Students should be tracking their behavior with their behavior charts in their homework folders and parents should review the daily behavior and sign off. Positive behavior will be reinforced weekly with rewards.
